For most local VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) enthusiasts Dubshed is the considered THE car show of the year. This year was no different, with cars from all over the UK and Ireland in attendance. Last weekend’s show was the fourth annual Dubshed event organised by GTINI and they SMASHED it!!! We called down to the pre show set-up on saturday night to see what cars were lurking under the dust covers…

Sunday morning was an early start for those attending the show with car entry closing at 11am. It seemed an even earlier start for those who had some celebratory bevy’s the night before! A few last minute wipe-downs and a lick of tyre slick on Sunday saw all cars ready for spectators arriving around 12pm.

The Kings Hall, Belfast, has hosted the show since its conception in 2010. A brand new exhibition hall acted as the focal point of the show this year. Looking back at the photos today, I realised that this show now resembles something more comparable with the mainland UK and Europe. Not only do we have great quality cars, we now have the show to match!!

Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice was the chosen charity for Dubshed 2013, so rest assured your entry fee went to a good cause. This years car raffle featured a cool VW Lupo, which has been treated to a full respray, coilovers, wheels, an audio install and some trimming!

A huge range of trade stands were on site including Blackwater Graphics, Kleen Freaks and Revo. Local Revo specialists, Performance 360 , had a seriously impressive stand featuring 7 VW/Audi cars with a combined power of 2000+bhp. “All show and no go” definitely can’t be applied to these cars!

It was great to see a wide range of VAG cars on display, everything from the water-cooled era to more modern dubs. This bug was one of our favourites…

Some tasty Mk1’s were on display…

This black Mk1 Golf was incredible. Fitted with 15×11″ BBS RS’s, custom extended arches and a Rotrex supercharged VR6 tucked into the engine bay, it is one seriously nice car! More on this car in Part 2.>br>
Meanwhile in the Mk2 department there were some fantastic examples such as this…

BBS RS’s & RM’s remain as popular as ever. Some say that these BBS splits have become “common” and “unoriginal.” Personally, I think they are hard to beat….

Although dubshed is a strictly VAG only show, there were some exceptions to the rule including the NI-BMW stand and other marques displayed on trade stands. Niall O’Dowds mini was one of these exceptions and definitely deserved a spot indoors!

Audi’s are becoming increasingly well represented at Dubshed, this year a range of models from A3’s to R8’s were on display. Nathan Kowalski’s stunning A3 was holding it down for the Audi fans…

Yep thats right….Aston Martin wheels! You can just about make out the huge Lamborghini callipers and 362mm disks tucked in there as well!

That’s all for Part 1 of our Dubshed feature, stay tuned for part 2 and the full photo gallery tomorrow evening! Meanwhile, I thought I’d leave you with these…..
