Well what can I say, what a weekend of drifting. From start to finish every driver was absolutely on it they put on a show that wasn’t to be missed.

Driftland is a pretty unforgiving track between the wall and having very little run off if things go wrong but this still didn’t slow things down, if anything it made the drivers go harder and left the marshals to pick up lots of bodywork.

The clip 3 cone; some drivers took it upon themselves to see how far they could drag it around the track.

This weekend also featured two of the youngest ever competitors in Connor Shanahan (13) and Ryan Caldwell (14). Don’t let their ages fool you these young guys are a force to be reckoned with. They have no fear at all piloting those Nissans with well over 400 bhp at walls and other drivers cars. These guys are for real!

As usual at any event there are a few stand out cars and none other than Ben Rowlands Merc estate locomotive entertained the crowds with the diesel reek from it.

The battles were constantly door on door and winning was really only decided when a driver made a huge mistake.

During the pro practice Australlian guest driver Aleksandar Kantarovski got a little too close to the Driftworks dw86 of Phil Morrison.

However just to show how safe these cars are they were both back out with a couple of panels stitched together.

Driver of the weekend for me was Jack Shannahan for his absolute balls out aggression and and reverse entries and on everyone’s doors he was a deserved winner even if it was drving his little brothers car.

In the Pro am class the podium positions consisted of 3rd Connor Shannahan 2nd Matthew Denham and first went to Steve Will who Connor didn’t even let him put his trophy on the ground before spaying him with the champagne.

Pro was equally filled with great drivers with Simon Perry in 3rd, Matt Carter in 2nd and Jack Shannahan in 1st place.
